It all started when I made cherry pie filling... And then my husband told me he only likes fresh cherries. So, cheesecake with the option of adding cherry pie filling it was for dessert! This recipe does NOT need a springform pan(because honestly, who has those just lying around?).
I know, I know.... We did eat some before taking a picture! But it was soooooo good!

Cheese Cake Ingredients:
2c plain yogurt
2 tsp baking soda
2-8ounce packages of cream cheese
1c sugar
3 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla flavour
2c plain yogurt
2 tsp baking soda
2-8ounce packages of cream cheese
1c sugar
3 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla flavour
Directions: Mix yogurt and baking soda together. Set aside. (or skip this step and use 2c of sour cream) Mix the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs 1 at a time (otherwise it is a pain to stir in). Then add yogurt mix and vanilla flavour. Make sure everything is combined together. I enjoyed my hand blender for this. |
Pour it into the pan and put it in the middle rack on the oven. Fill the second pan with water and place it on the lower rack. Close the oven and start a timer for 30 minutes. When it beeps, turn off the oven, but leave the door closed for another hour. Then let it cool on your counter, and finally into the fridge. That will prevent your cake from collapsing! |
Eat it warm or cold with whatever your favourite topping is! Below I will link how I made my scrumptious Cherry Pie Filling!
