Let me share with you the pie crust recipe I grew up with... 3 ingredients and however long it takes you to roll out your crusts is how long it takes. No waiting till it cools, no advance planning. Just lots of yummy dough.
I don't know about you, but I don't really have the time or space to let my dough sit for 12 hours... Or the fore planning and patience. So here is my crust go to.
Ingredients
5c all purpose flour
1lb of lard (2 cups)
1 can of 7-up (sprite or any other lemon lime soda works)
Mix them together(don't keep mixing or your dough will be tough. Just combine it). Plop them on a floured surface, roll them out, and cook them up.
