As a Mom, I am constantly seeing videos popping up about how beautiful I am no matter what size I am. As a woman I'm constantly being told that I need to embrace how I look. And you know what? I do. I dress all funky and do cool things with my hair, and I feel gorgeous. All those movies though, they tell me nothing, it is my husband that makes me feel that way. The other day I heard him say something about how he doesn't like how he looks, and I wanted to tell him... I think he is the most handsome man I know. But I couldn't figure out how to tell him so he would really know.
So here it is.
So here it is.
Dear Husband,
I know it is getting you down that you are a bit out of shape, and I wish there were a million videos out there to tell you to embrace how you look and know that you are handsome... But there aren't. So I just wish that you could see yourself through my eyes, because honey, I think that you are pretty swell.
I'm not deluded, I know you gained some weight since we got married, but I think it is so sexy when you chose to come home earlier every day instead of going to the gym. Seeing you choose to spend time with your kids on the weekend instead of going out for hours to lose weight, that is what makes you so attractive to me. Soon we will be going out hiking with our kids, and I hope we can bike together, and maybe you will lose that extra bit of weight. But even if you don't? I hope you catch me checking you out on the sly.
I love how you choose to laugh at a million different things. Life seems just that much brighter when you are around. Your loud laugh, even in the middle of a crowd are one of the things that attracted me to you, even if it makes you embarrassed.
You are so incredibly intelligent and talented. It amazes me how much information you have inside your head. I think it is great that you have a strong opinion on so many different things, even though when we argue I hate it... I like that you can listen too, try new things, and aren't ashamed to change your opinion no matter how many people knew how you felt.
I feel safe leaving my heart with you, I know you will take care of me. Honey, when we found out that we were expecting, it wasn't in the plans.... I know there is so many things you wanted to do that you gave up to care for our family. I am so thankful. Your heart and mind draw me to you. They are part of why I think you are so handsome.
I turn into giggly mush sometimes when I see that you haven't shaved. I know that it bugs you because it is itchy, but that you left it for me, because I think you look so good like that. It is the little things you go out of your way to do for me that makes you so handsome.
When you get really excited about something and extremely focused, it bugs me sometimes, as you know... But it also makes you very handsome. I know that when there is a problem with us, you will put everything towards fixing it. Sometimes I feel left out, but most of the time I am just amazed at how your mind works, and I just want to know you more.
Husband, you are the whole package, the big shebang, the sunday with whip cream, a cherry, and chocolate sauce. You are so handsome from your inside out.... (Please keep your insides inside though for top attractiveness)
I love you just as you are...
